Came back to my hockey roots after a 5 year interlude playing Korfball (it’s Dutch…), and joined the club in January 2010. I have since played for all 4 ladies teams and somehow now find myself as Ladies Captain. I am the committee representative for all of the ladies teams covering playing, training, discipline and welfare. Tony is the Chairman of the newly formed Academy Section of the Club. Overseeing the day to day running of players aged 13-17 years. Last year he Captained the World Famous Fighting Sixes to Promotion and is an all round good guy (i mean Round) also looks after U16/18 teams at club. just in my 3rd season of hockey and i am addicted.

I joined Northampton Saints Hockey Club in 1983 at the age of 12 and have been with the club ever since…

I wanted to be forward but gradually got pushed further and further back and spent near enough the majority of my playing career in the back line as a sweeper / centre back or right back.

I have played for all the sides in the men’s section and spent from 1992 through to 2008 in the first team with a couple of spells as captain.

I am now a L2 Hockey Coach and spend my time coaching our Juniors, Mens & Ladies teams with games thrown in for whichever team needs a wily old defender….

Sad as it is but when there is no hockey it is just not fun…

Del has been involved with the club for a number of years and has now taken over the running of our 2 badgers teams each week. Quite how we manages to get over 22 youngsters out to play hockey is a mystery to us, but keep up the good work!
