Cassidy stars for British Colleges

After travelling upto Stirling on the Friday, 2 matches were played on the Saturday (1 in the morning & the other in the afternoon). The normal squad of 22 players had been reduced down to 16 due to unavailabilty (probably partly due to the distance needing to be travelled), with 3 of those 16 players being goalkeepers, so only 13 outfield players!

Liam played mainly left or right wing & after a poor team performance in the 1st game which they lost 4-2 (I think most of the lads thought they were still playing summer league rather than against A top opposition!), they suffered a couple of minor injuries against the well drill & hard playing Scottish team.

In the afternoon game with weary legs the British Colleges surprisingly they rallied to show their fighting spirit & reverse the mornings scoreline to win 4-2! with Liam setting up the 3rd & winning goal with a nice bit of skill on the byline, tapping the ball into the pitch to get it to pop over his opponents stick & then cross for an easy tap in!

So all in all a good performance to end with & make the journey well worthwhile!
