Moulton College Hockey Academy

• The Academy runs alongside a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development, Fitness and Coaching which at the end of the two year course is the equivalent to 3 A-Levels which can facilitate their transition into University.

• Within the 4 days a week the student will be attending the college they will receive coaching every day and all afternoon Wednesdays either playing fixtures in the BCS league (British Colleges and Schools), Tournaments and ‘Friendly’ fixtures.  Then additional training sessions when there are no fixtures.

• One hour a week with a Strength and Conditioning expert and access to a full time Physiotherapist

• The students will also undertake Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT equivalent to GCSEs showing academic currency using these skills and aiding those students who did not achieve a C grade at GCSE

• Moulton College offers the very best facilities within the region and possibly the country for Hockey

• High Specification Waterbased pitch (Equal to the Beijing Olympics)

• Indoor Hockey Pitch

• Exposure to a Strength and Condition expert within an Olympic lifting gym

• Full time access to a Physiotherapist

• Opening January 2012 a brand new Rehabilitation Centre (only one of its kind at an FE College)

We believe this course offers a fantastic opportunity to both increase your Hockey abilities as well as improving your employability gaining a nationally recognised sporting qualification which can be used to access University courses.
