Academy Hockey Training starts this Sunday (16th Sept)

Academy Training starts this Sunday (16th Sept), 11am-12.30pm:

• Girls Academy Training will be at Caroline Chisholm School from 16th September until 2nd December 2012 (no Sunday training during half-term). Commencing again 13th January until the 12th May 2013 (no training during Easter holiday)

• Boys Academy Training will be atMoulton Sports Complex 16th September until 2nd December (no Sunday training during half-term). Commencing again in 2013 at Caroline Chisholm School, 20th January until the 12th May 2013 (no training during Easter holiday)

Northampton Falcons Hockey Academy is a great opportunity for Boys and Girls between the ages of 13 to 18 to enjoy training and playing matches regardless of what level they are currently at. Either new to hockey or an old hands (18 year old!) we have the level for all teenagers to really get into hockey.

The Falcons will be running 6 teams this year U14’s, U16’s and U18’s boys and girls playing in the England Hockey competitions and friendly’s within the Midlands.

Along with that the Academy has teamed up with the Northamptonshire Schools and Youth Hockey Association to provide the Junior Development Centres (JDC) in Northampton. This is the first steps to being able to represent the County and towards the England Squads 

Programme

• The Academy will train every two weeks on a Sunday morning from 11am-12.30pm on the following dates (and at the listed locations): 

• Girls Academy Training at Caroline Chisholm School: 16th September until 2nd December 2012 (no Sunday training during half-term). Commencing again 13th January until the 12th May 2013 (no training during Easter holiday)

• Boys Academy Training atMoulton Sports Complex 16th September until 2nd December (no Sunday training during half-term). Commencing again in 2013 at Caroline Chisholm School, 20th January until the 12th May 2013 (no training during Easter holiday)

• The period between September and December we will be run the Northampton JDCevery week on a Sunday morning from 11am-12.30pm on the following dates (and at the listed locations): 

• Girls JDC at Caroline Chisholm School: 16th September until 2nd December 2012 (no Sunday training during half-term).

• Boys JDC atMoulton Sports Complex 16th September until 2nd December (no Sunday training during half-term).

For those not selected for the JAC /County schoolboys and girls teams over the Christmas period memberships of NHA continues until May via the Academy sessions.

The aims of the Academy

• To grow the participation of teenagers in hockey for the whole of the county
• To give an opportunity for teens enjoy quality peer training and match play for those who are already committed to other clubs but have no junior sides. Membership of NHC is not required.
• To improve the performance of Northampton Hockey Club’s under16 and 18 teams playing in EHB cups and Midlands’s junior leagues. It will do this by offering designated team training sessions.
• To assist teens to bridge the gap between junior (under 14) hockey and the first team squads of NHC and other clubs in Northamptonshire.
• It will automatically enrol any eligible Northampton Hockey Club junior members in the Northampton JDC in preparation for selection to the Northamptonshire county teams.
• To give an opportunity for teens enjoy quality peer training and match play for those NHC who are already committed to other activities on a Saturday

Membership

Northampton Hockey Club members

• Membership to NHA is combined NHC membership and represents a cost saving to parents as the JDC programme is included. Membership is £100 (NHC/NHA)

    Non- NHC members

• Non NHC members of the academy the annual subscriptions is £45 which includes the JDC programme.

    JDC only

• For just the JDC programme is £45

It is open to teenagers between school years 9 – 13, in 2012/13 school year. (You must be 13 years old as of the 1st September).
