Cardiac Screening Day at Moulton

Published by on

As you maybe aware there has been several reported incidences of cardiac arrest in young athletes including perhaps the most publicised one of the footballer Fabrice Mwamba.   Northampton Swimming Club and their coaches felt that they should look into cardiac screening for their athletes and  working with the Charity Cardiac Risk in the Young we have organised a Cardiac Screening day on Saturday 22 June 2013 which will be held at the

Chris Moody Centre
Moulton College
Pitsford Campus Gate 4
Pitsford Road
Moulton
Northampton
NN3 7QL

The cost of the screening for athletes is £42.  This covers the screening and venue hire costs. Northampton Swimming Club are not making any profit from this screening day.

To book  a place (PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS ON THE EMAIL BEFORE YOU CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW)

You need to use the link www.testmyheart.org and click on screening calendar on the left hand side of the page and scroll down to Northampton Swimming Club Private Screening.  A list of appointments will come up
with times next to it.  Each time has 3 appointments available so please do not panic if you see the time still available when you have completed the booking form.   On the very last box on the booking form it is important that you add the name of your Hockey Club so that we can invoice the clubs for cost of your screening and athletes need to pay the fee to their home club. You will receive a holding email and nearer the event CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) will email you some forms which need to be completed and brought to the screening.

Screening is only available to athletes aged 14-35 through this charity and if your child is too young we will hopefully be arranging these on an annual or bi-annual basis.  CRY have advised that age is as on day of the screening and they will not screen anyone who is too young or too old even by one day.
