Match Reports from 31/08 and 01/09
Ladies 2nd XI 0 – 2 Mliton Keynes 2nd XI
In their first game of the season Saints 2s came up against a MK side that were also suffering from early season availability. As Saints had to field a rather suspect keeper who could have entered the bearded lady competition, the sides were well matched for each other. Saints had a lot of pressure during the match but failed to convert the pressure into goals, with the MK defending deep and the keeper producing some fine saves.
The same could not be said for the Saints keeper though as ‘she’ was rounded whilst apologising for taking out a MK forward in the first half and a family deformity of short legs meant ‘she’ could not reach the penalty corner which was slotted into the corner.
Although Saints lost the match a good alround team performance was made by all and for the first match of the season a good confidence boost. As always we need to convert the pressure into goals. Simple really!!
