Tomorrow’s match previews (23/11/13)
Our Ladies 2s get the hockey up and running tomorrow with an ealy morning trip to Ashby. Push back is at 10am! The 2s will be looking to get their league campaign back on track after a couple of disappointing results. With both teams on 9 points this should be a very closely fought game.
Next up is our Ladies 5s as they host Wellingborough 2s, 11am push back at Moulton Sports Complex. Sue Wighman’s team will face a tough task against a resurgent Wellingborough side who have recorded some high scoring victories so far this season.
Over at our other pitch at Caroline Chisholm, the Ladies 3s face Rothwell at 11am. With both teams level on points and with an almost identical goal difference, this could see a 1 goal victory for one of the sides!
At 12pm the Men’s 2s host Beeston 2s at Moulton College Water Base. Beeston will go in as clear favourites as they currently lie 2nd in the table, however Saints 2s should feel more confident going into this game after securing a 4 point haul from their last 3 games.
At 12.30pm the World Famous Fighting 6s (Men’s 6s) take on Litchfield 4s. With a very young side this year the 6s have seen performances improving in recent weeks, and they will need to pull a top performance out of the bag as they face a Litchfield side who have only lost 1 game so far.
The 12.30pm match over at Moulton Sports Complex sees our Ladies 1s take on North Notts. With both teams tied on 18 points at the top of the table, this game already has a ‘6-pointer’ written all over it. They’ll be looking for the recent goal scoring form of Sarah Brimyard and Dani Hagan to continue in their quest for victory.
At 1pm the Ladies 4s travel to Wellingborough to play Wildcatz. Another tough game for our ladies section this week against a heavily experienced opposition.
At 2pm, our Men’s 3s host Nottingham at Moulton Sports Complex. A victory against them should see them climb into the promotion spot, which they currently sit outside of on goal difference only. Having won their last 2 games, scoring 14 goals in the process, the home side should be in confident spirits!
Pushing back at the same time as our 3s, the Men’s 1st team travel to face bottom of the table Coventry & North Warwick. A victory in this game could well see Ben Scott’s side climb to 3rd place, their highest league position for a number of years.
At 3pm, the Men’s 5s travel to Beeston with argulably one of their strongest squads this season. A victory is much needed to see them move clear of the relegation zone. Which could be easier said than done in a league which sees 4 out of the 12 teams relegated!
At 3.30pm the Men’s 4s take on Nottingham University, away. The 4s have so far adjusted very well to life in the Midlands Premier Division. However this weekend will see them tested to the max as they take on the University team that is currently unbeaten in the league.
At the end of the day, our Mixed 1st XI are in action against Amatuers. 5pm push back at Moulton Sports Complex.
