Match Previews for 1st March
We’re back to a full schedule again for tomorrow:
The Ladies 5s start proceedings with an 11am match against top of the table Oundle. The match is being played at Caroline Chisholm.
At the same time the fastly improving Ladies 2s are at Moulton Sports Complex. They host Barton with just 1 point seperating these 2 mid-table sides. It’s a real ‘6-pointer’ as a win for either team could see them move towards safety, with the bottom 5 teams likely to be relegated at the end of the season.
At 12pm the Men’s 2s play Litchfield at Moulton College (water base). A win tomorrow should almost gaurantee the 2s safety in the Midlands Premier Division. Last time round these 2 sides drew 3-3, so this could well be a close match.
At 12.30pm, top of the table Men’s 3s face Nottingham Players who are well and truly in a relegation fight. So this has all the markings of a passionate match with both teams desperate for 3 points!
Meanwhile at Caroline Chisholm School (at 12.30pm), The Men’s 7s are up against Coalville 5th XI. The 7s welcome back the father-son combination of Adam and Nigel Wright into the squad.
1pm sees our Ladies 3s travel to Wellingborough School to face Olney.
At 2pm back at Moulton Sports Complex, the Men’s 6s play local rivals Rugby & East Warwick. A win tomorrow should ensure the 6s stay in the Central League South East Division 1 for another season.
Also at 2pm, the Mixed team are in action at Campion School against Amatuers.
3.30pm sees the Badgers back in action after the half-term break. They face Wellingborough at Moulton Sports Complex.
Elsewhere around the midlands……
Our Men’s 1s travel to local rivals Rugby & East Warwick in what’s always a fierce battle! The Men’s 4s have a tough trip to Cannock 5th XI whilst our Men’s 5s have a 4pm back at Burton.
The Ladies 1s make a short trip over to Kettering in this local derby. A win tomorrow will put real pressure on league leaders Litchfield (with 3 points currently seperating both sides).
