Coaching Update
Hi All,
The 2014/15 season was a mixed one for the club, but one that will help us develop and strengthen as a club over the next few seasons. One of the key achievements was our Ladies 1st XI being promoted back into Midlands Premier league after a two season absence. Our men’s section had a very tough season for many reasons, some teams struggled to find their form, many teams faced the toughest teams they have ever fought and the some had a fantastic season, such as the men’s 3rd XI who stayed in Midlands Premier for another season.
The coaching staff of the men’s section is being reorganised for the coming season. We are delighted to announce that Tom Hewitt will step up from Men’s 2nd XI player coach to Men’s 1st XI coach. Tom brings a wealth of knowledge to this role having played previously at National League for Beeston Hockey Club. As well as coaching our Men’s 2nd XI for the past three seasons, he has coaching at Spalding Hockey club and is the Northamptonshire men’s county coach.
Christian (Paddy) Howard will step up from his club coaching role into the Men’s 2nd XI player coach role. Christian owns Jumpstart Sports coaching, coaching across Northamptonshire and Leicestershire as well as coaching JAC level juniors. He has also played for our men’s 1st XI for over 8 seasons and will be a great coach to help develop our younger players.
The men’s club coach (3rd XI – 6th XI) announcement will follow in the coming weeks.
Our ladies coaching staff will not change for the coming season and the team (LA, Steve & Steve) are already busy making plans for developing the ladies section ensuring that the Ladies 1st XI keep their new spot in Midlands Premier, getting our Ladies 2nd XI promoting back into the Midlands leagues and developing the fantastic range of younger players through our ladies 3rd and 4th teams.
We wish all of our coaches best of luck for the start pre-season in July/August.
