Saints Primary School Quicksticks Festival

Published by on

Saints hosted a primary school Quicksticks  festival on Monday 23rd at Moulton College. The aim was to introduce competitive hockey to year 3 and 4 pupils and enthuse as many as possible to come and try junior hockey.

Teams came from Parklands, Moulton, Blackthorn, Chiltern and Kingsthorpe Village Primaries and played for two hours despite the unseasonable weather enjoyed the games. All teams progressed their skills and many a future hockey star could be seen in their ranks.

All children who attended will be offered training at the club and we hope to offer more tournaments through out the year. Many parents attended and were given free tea and coffee to keep the chil away.

The club provided coaches for all teams, umpires and club parents talked about he club to spectators and ferried refreshments from the clubhouse to the side of the pitch.

Quicksticks is the England Hockey Primary School introductory version of the game played on smaller pitches with a larger ball which makes the game more accessible for new players.

Thank you to everyone who helped!
