Club announces Men’s Section 2017-18 Coaching Staff
NORTHAMPTON HOCKEY CLUB, NORTHAMPTON, 4th SEPTEMBER 2017 – Northampton hockey club officially announces its men’s coaching leadership staff for next season, with three new appointments involving Christian Howard, Adam Powell and Ben Scott. The coaches will be tasked with making the club known as the place to learn and develop skills and team-ship.
Christian Howard retains the status of 1st team coach for which will be the second season he will take charge of the task. Since the strong finish of the previous campaign in Midlands 1, Howard has extended his experience with further education workshops and seminars with England Hockey plus involvement in senior roles in summer camps.
Adam Powell has been promoted to 2nd team coach, following two years concentrating on wider player development as club coach. Powell has supported over 100 players at all levels of the club improve their basic skills and build their confidence to grow into higher teams in the men’s section.
The third announcement is for the new incoming club coach, Ben Scott. Scott returns to the club as a replacement for Powell and he comes in with a rich history of national league and midlands premier league playing pedigree and more recently, Head of hockey at Stowe school.
The new appointments represent a reinvigorated commitment to hockey coaching excellence in the county. It means all male players have the opportunity to improve, learn and achieve higher levels of performance.
Club chairman Jon Keep explains “We are delighted to secure such a strong men’s coaching team for the 2017-18 season. Last year we created a firm platform and went from strength to strength and with these appointments, we continue to offer the very best opportunity to players in Northamptonshire who wish to enjoy hockey and develop their skills.”
