Update on Covid (23rd August)

Published by on

Since England Hockey have announced we are going into Step 4 of the Return to Play protocol, The Club should let you know where we are at with making the necessary and required adjustments to how we function.

The club has:

  • Set up a dedicated Return to Play Committee
  • Completed and are constantly reviewing our new COVID-19 specific Risk Assessment – in collaboration with Moulton College.
  • Making changes to the way we train
  • Making changes to the way we play fixtures

The Return to Play committee has been setting up trial training sessions and fixtures (by invite only) to ensure we have a robust risk assessment and that it meets England hockeys guildlines.

There are also new procedures that we will have to follow – Your respective captains/coaches will let you know soon.

This is of course an ongoing scenario which could change at any time and we need to be prepared for all cases – especially in the case of a local lockdown in Northampton.

We are targeting first training sessions and friendlies at the beginning of september

    Best,

Max Wilkinson (COVID-19 Officer) & Jack Zoers-Benstead (Communications Officer) On behalf of the Exec Committee
