Another Windy Day
Another windy day yesterday, and a fantastic result for the Ladies 3s with a 6-1 win against Nuneaton. Maddie Murphy scored a hat-tick (did she get the beers in? – ed), Olivia Witts was MoM, and Mel made some lovely saves. Remember; Goalkeepers are Amazing People!
Mens 5s also won, beating Ashby 6-2. Four cracking goals from Rob Tee, one from the young and focused George Cooper, and an amazing shot that ricocheted around the goal from David Rose. This victory continues the Fives’ winning streak and keeps them top of the division!
Also on a winning streak of 8 wins in a row are the Ladies 4s. Travelling to Oundle away with a bare 11, Saints gave it their all and won 3-1. Yet another dominant performance, and the visitors were unfortunate not to score more.
Mens 6s lost 6-2. Captain Chris Godman was disappointed with the result, saying “Lots to work on at training on Tuesday night”.
Men’s 3s continued their table-topping form with a 7-0 victory over Warwick 3s in the early game at Fortress Moulton. A hat-trick for Dan Rose and a brace for Jason Hillier were among the highlights (including the most deceptively-paced penalty flick you’re likely to see all season!). The Mens 3s are now on an unbeaten run of 20 games with only 2 losses in the last 41. And remember; Goalkeepers are Amazing people, even when they have nothing to do!
Mens 2s were unlucky not to take any points off an undefeated Beeston 3s. Jack Zoers-Banstead put Saints 1-0 up early on but Saints went on to lose 3-1. Great effort from the 2s, keep up the hard work!
And Ladies 2s won on Saturday, 3-2 versus Market Harborough.
