Man say, “Brrr”. Dog say, “Grrr”.

Ladies 5s lost 5-1 v Rugby & East Warks 4 on Saturday, a scoreline that rather flatters the opposition.

Despite the result, Saints defended well, forcing the opposition wide and dominating the centre of the pitch. On the attack there were some great give-and-go passes. The team were not afraid to pass the ball around the back waiting for the channel to open up.

After the match, a Devoted Parent said, “Brrr”, and Douglas the Dog said, “Grrr”.

Player of the match was Daisy, who gave a very determined and disciplined performance driving forward and distributing well. (Yes, great alliteration – ed.).

Team: Rebecca, Izzy, Tunni, Poppy, Azaria, Erin, Daisy, Katie, Daisy, Millie,  Emmy, Aggie, Ruby.

Spectators: 5 + Douglas the dog.

In their early game, Ladies 1s came together as a squad to smash five past Harborne. Lots of hard work behind the scenes and at training sees corners converted and a hat-trick for Chloe! #saintsladies

Mens 1s came from one-nil down to beat a talented Rugby 1s at home on Saturday at Moulton.

In a resolute and determined performance, the men stood up to a skilful attack in the first half, but took their own chances when they came, firstly from Scott Mahoney on a penalty corner, and then soon after, Cam Arnold netted his tenth of the season following a fast counter attack with Stu Clark.

The second half was a midfield battle that could’ve swung both ways but unusually there were no goals in the whole period.

Man of the match squarely belonged to keeper Tom Pedler who put in an outstanding and consistent display that impressed all who saw the match.

Saints go on the long road to Leek next week, looking to extend their unbeaten run.

Ladies 2s had an early start away at Loughborough Town. 1-1 was the final score in a very good game. The girls really played well with loads of transferring of the ball and should have won really. But over all a good game. Goal scored by Danni Austin.

An awesome team defensive performance kept a fast-moving and able Leicester 2s at bay as the Mens 3s came away with all three points in a hard-fought 1-0 away win. Jason’s second half penalty corner strike made the difference against tough opposition as Saints saw off eight penalty corners without conceding. Saints stay top and in good spirits going into the final quarter of the season.

Mens 5s lost 2-0 to top of the league Loughborough Carillon 2s. A tough game in which the home team had some good chances which they didn’t put away.

Spectators were out in full force even on a cloudy evening as Ladies 3s lost 3-1 to Towcester 3s. A nice goal from Flick, who also earned player of the match!

Ladies 4s won 3-0 against Long Buckby 2s. A well-played game with every player playing their best!

A 1-0 win for Mens 7s away to Old Silhillians, with Harry S setting up Seb C for the goal, a proper Division Ten game!

Finally, Mens 2s lost 5-2 away at Sikh Union Coventry…keep up the hard work guys!
