Saints 1s beat Warwick in the sunshine

A plucky 2 – 1 home win from the Mens 1s against Warwick University on Saturday.

After going down early, the team regrouped and managed to take control of the game for large parts of the first half. Saints’ first goal came from an amazing six-pass end to end goal that saw Owen Davies knock in at the back post and then minutes after, an incredible individual piece of brilliance by returning Cam Arnold, who dispatched a top of the D shot, high into the net.

The team withstood Warwick pressure either side of half time but ultimately saw it through to a win. Stand out performances from Tom Pedler, Nick Whorton and man of the match, Matt Walker.

Next weekend the Men’s go on the road to Hampton in Arden.
