Devoted Parent Sings Praises

Mens 4s battled a well deserved win in the early fixture v Ashby IIIs. Having taken an early lead, Saints fell behind in the second half but fought back for a spectacular 5-3 win! Men of the Match Jack Hill and Jonny Nash.

L1 – win 1-0 v olton WW.

Really positive first league game for the L1 with the high press working fantastically well boxing Olton in to their left back positions where saints won the ball time after time. Plenty of great interlinking play across the lines led to a stunning backhand goal for Ruby Curtis Free. Monique skinner at FB was awesome along with keeper Freya Garlic kept Olton at bay. Good day all round and a happy coach.

After the Ladies 5s match, Blake Dunkley, Devoted Parent and ex-hockey player said, “Just wanted to say that if I was the 5’s coach for the whole year I would be very excited about where this group can go! An 8-0 loss has never been so encouraging!!! Individually they were all brilliant and as a team they pulled together over 70 minutes, didn’t lose hope and stayed positive to the final whistle … they should all be proud of how they progressed as a team today!”

Ladies 4s lost against Rugby 5s. They put out a very strong side and we put a great fight with some lovely break down of play. The result was 2-1 but a draw would have been a much fairer outcome!

Men sevens lost three goals to 2. Report on its way but they’re still on the motorway as I publish this…

Mens 2s got their season off to a solid start with a 4-0 win over Leicester 2s. Saints had the better of a well-contested first half, doubling an early lead with a smart short corner finish on the stroke of half time. 2 more second half PCs put the 2s in control but they still had to weather a late flourish from Leicester to keep a clean sheet as the visitors came looking for a consolation. Goals came from Athiq, Hamish and 2 from MoM Dom.
