Come on you Saints!

Mens 6s 0-3 Leicester City 2s

A contentious goal in the first half set the tone for the rest of the game, we had a strong going and gave a team much higher up the table a proper game, but unfortunately we couldn’t put our chances away.

Ladies 1s 2-1 win v Leek 1s

In a game that was vitally important for them come away with points, Saints started very brightly taking the positive interlinking play from their midweek game and dominated the opening phases. leek settled and started to stretch the game and put saints under pressure, some excellent build plays continued for saints with HB HM and FWDs connecting and a great goal from Dani D open the scoring.

Saints continued to play great passing hockey and Maisie H.

Second half saw leek who are fighting to avoid relegation up the intensity and grab a goal back. Saints held out deservingly for the win and should have sealed the win a little more comfortably. Still a great win and important 3 points and good team play…

Ladies 2’s 1-3 Warwick uni

The ladies two’s got off to a great start against Warwick today with press from Katie fidler winning the ball and passing it to Grace Moulton who then managed to work her way through to Gracie  Horton in the D to score in the first 5 minutes! the twos battled hard however the first half ended 1-1. From a great front line press and a goal line stop from Annie Howard he ladies unfortunately walked  away with a 3-1 loss however they battled hard with Hattie Kendrick and Millie Richie holding a strong middle attack. the mom went to Laura Wychgel for her constant strong defence and dod to katie fidler for her broken astros!!

Saints 5s *4-5* Ashby 3s

Goal scorers:

Lloyd A x2

Harry K x1

James O x1

A tough loss to take this week, seeming we started the gaming so dominantly scoring 2/3 goals early on.

A few defensive mishaps, and a few unfortunate goals, and with our heads dropped, Ashby managed to recover and counter our lead.

Unfortunate result, but we move onto next weeks game against Market Harborough

Tactical blunders and an early  five minute onslaught from Stratford led to M4s second and heaviest defeat of the season. 4-0 down at half time, and playing like strangers we at least managed to draw the second half 1-1, courtesy of a red-zone goal from man of the match, Jonny Nash. Seriously need to tighten up next week

M2s continued their run of good form with a hard-fought 3-2 home win over Rugby 3s. Starting 2 points below Rugby in the table, the 2s got the better of an even 1st half – 2 goals from Scott M made the difference as Saints converted their chances and denied Rugby when they had their’s.

The second half was tight; a PC rebound for Rugby halved the deficit; Saints looked to have sealed it when MoM Scott M claimed his hat-trick; but almost immediately a mix-up in the 2s defence brought Rugby back within 1. Saints kept their discipline and saw out the game to move up the table, leap-frogging their opponents into 4th.

M3s travelled to league leaders Loughborough Students 5s and once again performed really well however couldn’t stop the Uni side losing 4-0. A well drilled Loughborough team maintained the pressure for the full 70 mins and capitalised on the few chances they had. A strong performance in goal from Phil Preen ensured the attacking student side were kept at bay for the majority of the match. The whole team performed well, but with particular mention to George Cooper, Jack Hill and Joel Panther for their unwavering contribution throughout the match; names to watch out for in the future! Much to be positive about, onwards and upwards for the next game! COYS U0001F3D1U0001F607
