Junior Coaching Survey Results

Published by on

Many thanks to those of you that completed our recent coaching survey over the Christmas period. We had a good response and some valuable feedback was provided.

50+ responses covering Saturday mornings, Wednesday and Friday evenings

Some crossover and other sessions mentioned

Saturday mornings (U8-U12)

Good coaches, organised, good variety, fun sessions

Would like to see more help with rules, positional play, more basics and more games!

Sometimes it feels there aren’t enough coaches, too much standing around, kids get distracted

Skills would like to learn: variety of passing, carrying skills

I think the parents would appreciate a coffee stall nearby!

Wednesday evenings (U16)

Good coaches, good drills, fun, application of skills into gameplay

Would like to see more advanced technical skills, more tactical drills, more games!

Sometimes a bit more intensity desired (from players)

Skills would like to learn: dragflicks, aerial pass, elimination skills

Friday evenings (U14)

Good coaches, good variety, enjoyable

Would like to see more skill sessions, elimination drills, match-specific tactics/set plays (LCs, PCs)

Sometime we focus too much on attacking

Skills would like to learn: aerial pass, reverse stick skills

General

Very positive overall

Older juniors enjoyed playing with others when transitioning to senior sides

Some direction on fitness may be appreciated
