Cassidy stars for British Colleges

After travelling upto Stirling on the Friday, 2 matches were played on the Saturday (1 in the morning & the other in the afternoon). The normal squad of 22 players had been reduced down to 16 due to unavailabilty (probably partly due to the distance needing to be travelled), with 3 of those 16 players being goalkeepers, so only 13 outfield players!   Liam played mainly left or right wing & after a poor team performance in the 1st game Read more…

Northampton HC enter Charity Netball Tournament!

Pimp My Side swapped hockey sticks and shinpads for trainers and bibs as they tried their hand at netball in the annual ‘Moulton Charity Netball Tournament, held at Moulton College. This was open to mixed teams, so some of the men were in for a bit of a shock as they tried netball for the first time in their lives!! Great Britain Lose Narrowly to Germany

 Germany had taken a two goal lead late in the first half before Reading’s Simon Mantell pulled one back just before the break.  Tobias Lietz extended the Germans’ lead from close range just under ten minutes into the second half before World Young Player of the Year Ashley Jackson set up a tense finish with a trademark penalty corner goal late on. GB win ten goal thriller

Jason Lee handed Great Britain debuts to six players, including 18 year old Andy Bull and 17 year old Harry Martin, both of whom took to the pitch for the first time ever at senior international level.
