On Sunday the inaugural matches of the Phoenix Mixed Hockey League were held. Saints’ mixed team faced Fat Cats on a very warm October afternoon. The pitch was buzzing with excitment about the return of regular mixed hockey, with matches being played through the afternoon. The Ladies 4s were away at towcester against the team who were relegated into our league for this season. We started strong making lots of progress up the pitch. Mixed hockey sees a welcome return this year with the inaugural season of the Phoenix Sunday League. Following the demise of Northants Mixed League last year, an exciting new format has been set up with fixtures on Sunday afternoons with the aim of attracting more teams and players from a wider area. We have our Summer camps running next week on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, all places are now taken and Jack and Ant and the assistant coaches are all looking forward to seeing you for three days of fun hockey. Camps will be running at half/end of terms through out the year – dates to follow.
